Wireless Outdoor Speakers – Where Should They Go?

by speaker

Ok, so now you have bought your wireless outdoor speakers. What do you do with them? Where do you place them? Obviously you want to place them outside. But where? The outdoors can be a fantastic place with its normal flows and rhythms. But lets face it, it can also be a downright noisy place as well. Background noise from insects, leaves, the wind as well as any automobile traffic (people love to honk their horns don’t they?). The acoustic aspects of the outdoors can affect the sound coming from your wireless outdoor speakers and diffuse the soundwaves to the point where they sound “tinny” and “shallow”. One way to combat this problem is to ensure that you buy speakers with the right amount of bass. You can do this by ensuring that the the wireless outdoor speakers have sufficient low-frequency response. This will produce the bass you will need to provide the low registers that enhance any musical composition. But that leaves us with where we should place them.

Some people might want to use their speakers inside as well as outside. Simply using the A and B speaker outputs will suffice in this situation. But for those who want to keep and use their speakers outside they need to consider the following;

Wireless Outdoor Speakers – Where Should They Go?

To keep these speakers from working for only a single season you will need to protect them as much as you can from the elements. While they are designed to withstand different environmental conditions (dry, humid, hot, cold), they still need you to help them last. Most of the time, if these speakers are mounted under a protective location (eave of a roof for example), they will hold up well for years.

To improve the acoustics of the wirless outdoor speakers one should consider where it is placed as well. If the wireless outdoor speakers are placed near a wall or on a sturdy flat surface, this will improve bass performance. The range of the sound that the speakers produces can be extended quite a bit if the speakers are raised higher from the ground. However, be careful that you use the correctly rated speakers if you are going to raise them so high that they will be overexposed. A wireless outdoor speaker that is mounted in an exposed position should be rated for extreme conditions.

Paying attention to where you place your wireless outdoor speakers can mean all the difference in terms of sound quality and durability.
